Can you believe it? There is now a swallowable perfume which is a capsule that is metabolized by the body to produce a fragrance that emanates from the skin.

A report from Springwise said in a world where nano-porous materials in our clothes can make deodorant unnecessary, it may seem almost old-fashioned to continue to apply perfume to our skin. That’s certainly the view of the team behind Swallowable Parfum, an innovation that allows users to swallow a capsule to produce a fragrance that emanates from within.

Created by Amsterdam-based artist Lucy McRae along with synthetic biologist Sheref Mansy, Swallowable Parfum is essentially a capsule containing synthetic fragrant lipid molecules that mimic the structure of the fat molecules naturally found in the body. When those lipids get metabolized by the body’s enzymes, fragrant molecules are released and excreted through the skin’s surface through perspiration. The skin, then, serves as an atomizer for the tiny droplets of fragrance that are left behind, and the strength of the resulting scent is determined by the individual’s acclimatization to temperature, stress, exercise or sexual arousal.

McRae and Mansy are currently still in the research phase of the creation of Swallowable Parfum or perfume, which they announced in August. Perfume houses and fashion brands in the Philippines may get you in involve in this news early on, so do watch it when they finally release there new creation. There site is www.swallowableparfum.com

Business ideas can come from anything and one man just thought of a great idea using Bernie Madoff’s clothes turned into Iphone covers. Here is the whole story from CNN Money:

If you’ve ever dreamed of turning the tables and taking Bernie Madoff to the cleaners, here’s your chance. John Vaccaro, a New York entrepreneur, is selling iPad covers made from the disgraced financier’s tailored clothes. Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison in June, 2009 for swindling billions of dollars from clients in what has been called the largest Ponzi scheme in U.S. history.

Last November, his clothes and personal possessions were sold at auction sponsored by the U.S. Marshals Service with proceeds going to help those who lost money from his scheme.

One of the bidders at the auction was Vaccaro, 41, who had just launched a new company, frederickjames.com selling eco-friendly customized iPad covers made from cashmere and other fine fabrics. Vaccaro first conceived the idea for his unique covers after purchasing an iPad and searching for a cover that would prove to be both scratch-resistant and fashionable.

WikiLeaks is all in the news nowadays and the Philippines was not excempted on its
released of hundreds of thousands of classified documents. The site’s secret-document dumps have spawned contentious political debates, international nail-biting, and near-daily headlines.

In a story in Inc.com, all that buzz has been a boon for small business. Hundreds of online pop-ups have emerged, peddling their Wiki-wares to the site’s band of loyal followers. Many see the site as purely political; others see it as purely profitable.

Since WikiLeaks hit the headlines, vendors have been uploading new Assange- and state-secrets-themed products daily to Zazzle.com, an e-commerce site based in San Jose, California. Products on the site, which is an open marketplace for designers and small businesses, range from the fairly traditional (buttons, T-shirts, sweatshirts) to the downright droll (dog sweaters, onesies, skateboards).

It stands to reason, then, that WikiLeaks-related websites—some legitimate content hubs, some little more than an attempt to generate ad revenue from URL typos—have also been an inevitable product of recent media attention.

“In the past few months, we’ve started seeing an increase in the number of domain names with the word ‘wiki’ and ‘leaks’ in them,” says Adelman. The site, which claims to register a domain name every second of every day is also hosting about 10 auctions right now for WikiLeaks-themed domains, with an average starting bid of around $5,000 each.

This is a great new fashion shirt for little boys. Dress-up clothes for small boys haven’t changed much over the years, leaving us today with essentially the same shirts and ties our grandfathers wore. Enter Fat Tie, a Los Angeles-based company that aims to give young boys a fresh alternative with a comfortable feel and a hip sense of style.

Available in both short- and long-sleeved versions, Fat Tie shirts are prewashed and preshrunk soft cotton t-shirts with a bold, tie-like applique sewn on the front. No more struggling to squeeze junior into a multipiece ensemble; instead, he can go from playground to dinner with maybe just a hand-washing in between. Sizes range from 12 months to 5T; pricing is USD 37.

Who would have thought there was still room for innovation in the world of children’s clothing? Then again, who wouldn’t have? When it comes to t-shirts, there’s no end to the possibilities. This is great for Philippine market.

With the fashion trend right now of wearing great looking flip-flops a 16 year old lady named Lindsay Phillips in the U.S. came up with the idea for a flip-flop with interchangeable straps during art class. Today, her company — Lindsay Phillips — employs 35 full-time staffers and is projected to bring in $30 million in revenue this year, reports AOLSmallbusiness.

The idea is simple — SwitchFlops are sandals with interchangeable straps. So instead of buying several pairs of sandals, customers can instead own one sandal with multiple straps. In the wake of the Great Recession, a 3-in-1 shoe (or, heck, 50-in-1) is tailor-made for shoppers on a budget.

The basic sandal itself costs $35, and additional straps are $12. Officially launched in 2007, SwitchFlops are now sold in more than 4,000 stores around the world, and Phillips’ line has evolved into other footwear like ballet flats, wedges and espadrilles. The company also makes shopping bags, scarves and sandals for children. Lindsay Phillips, the company, is currently building an overseas office.

“I bought some fun buttons and tried to put them on some sandals, but they kept falling off when I’d go to the beach, so I used some Velcro, and started lining it to the shoes,” says Phillips, who gave out her prototype sandal straps to family members and friends.

It was just a hobby at first, until a relative said, “This is really an amazing idea. You need to patent this.”

“I’m 16,” Phillips replied. “I really don’t know what a patent is. Can you help me?”

She wound up going to a sympathetic but skeptical patent attorney, who told her to do some research and make sure there wasn’t anything similar already on the market. If she couldn’t find anything, he said he would work with her. She did her research, turned up nothing, and to the attorney’s astonishment, he couldn’t find anything either. They began the process of applying for a patent. It took four years.

Phillips recalls meeting one of her customers who had eight pairs of her shoes and 30 straps, and seeing women staring at her displays like kids in a candy store, as they selected straps and matched them up with shoes. “It’s amazing to be in the store and watch it happen because everyone picks out something different,” she says.

And being different, of course, is the whole idea.

Attention Philippine Photographers here is a new service that can add new twist to your wedding services. A report from Tampa Tribune in the U.S., that hefty leather-bound, gold-edged wedding photo album is getting some new competition, the iPad.

In addition to offering a traditional album, a growing number of wedding photographers are starting to sell Apple iPad computer tablets, pre-loaded with hundreds of photos and video of the couple’s engagement, wedding and reception – some with lavish digital layouts and multi-media presentations. And the couples are buying them, fast, partly because guys love them.

“If I’m presenting photo packages to a bride and groom, I can tell you when the guy sees that iPad, he sits up, and gets excited for the first time in the whole wedding-planning process,” said Stephen Yanni, a photographer who does weddings across Florida. Since starting to offer iPad albums just two months ago, about half his clients are buying them.

“You may not lug out that 40-page, 30-pound album, except to force the relatives to flip through it on the couch,” Yanni said, “but brides will carry around that iPad wherever they go, and show it to every single person she meets.”

Photographers like Yanni see that as a major marketing opportunity and represent a rapid shift in wedding photography, catering to a thoroughly digital generation of couples who want their pictures on digital photo frames, as their computer wallpaper, on videogame consoles, on cell phone screens – and most importantly, on the bride’s Facebook page.

Here is a niche negosyo idea for pregnant woman. Why spend a fortune for a dress you only intend to wear for a few months while you’re pregnant? Rather than buy and hang onto various dresses or maternity outfits one website has pregnant women considering rentals instead reports stylestoday.

It’s rare that most women of normal-size get more than a few wears out of a cocktail dress, so the likelihood that you’ll wear a maternity cocktail dress again is far-fetched.

A new web-based company has a solution. The name says it all, Rentmaternitywear.com, The company was founded by “mompreneur” Marcelle Costello.

Dresses range from $35 to $70, and more than half of RentMaternityWear.com’s styles rent for less than $40. Typical prices break down like this: $35 for one week, $50 for two weeks and $60 for one week with a guaranteed that the dress is brand new or only rented once.

Nowadays ipods are almost everywhere from using it in jogging and going to the office. One drawback of using it in formal attire in going to the office is the bulging of your pocket with your cellphone and ipod. Well here is a nice idea with report from theage.com.au: for bored commuters with already bulging pockets, a shirt design company has come up with the perfect solution to keep them entertained on the trip to work — a commuter tie with a hidden iPod storage pocket.

Thomas Pink, the British shirt brand, is introducing the Commuter Tie as part of its main line for the autumn and winter 2009/2010 with the silk tie featuring a small pocket on the reverse designed to hold an iPod nano or mp3 player.

“The music player is placed in the pocket to avoid having expensive devices on display or damaging the line of one’s suit,” the company said in a statement.

An extra fabric loop keeps wires, including headphone wires, out of sight and close to the body.

Thomas Pink, which has its flagship store on Jermyn Street, London, is owned by luxury goods group LVMH (LVMH.PA) and has more than 80 boutiques and concessions in Europe, the United States and Asia.
