This is a great business idea that can be easily made with the right tools using scrap woods. A Japanese company called Kiko is now offering wooden sandals called Ashiato for kids that leave animal tracks in the sand as they walk. The website is in Japanese, but here’s what I’ve been able to figure out via Google’s translate tool: Ashiato are children’s clogs with animal footprints. Shapes available include a cat, owl, monkey, dinosaur, and gecko. Great for the beach or sandbox for fun.

Did Apple see this coming? iPads are beginning to replace menus in the U.S., just as e-readers have begun to replace hard copy books. Restaurant goers will have an opportunity to custom order their meals with just a touch of a finger. A news at USAToday talked with the founders of Stacked: Food Well Built, a new restaurant chain that will put an iPad/menu on every table in its three new locations opening soon in Southern California:

The two co-founders — who founded the BJ’s Restaurant chain — plan to place 100 iPads in each restaurant. Diners will use them to look at meal options; design their own burgers, pizzas and salads; and, if they want, use the iPads to pay for the meals. But, says co-founder Paul Motenko, “We’re not going to market it as an iPad restaurant.” When Stacked founders first considered a concept with guests creating their own meals and ordering them on tabletop devices, the iPad didn’t yet exist. IPads were the breakthrough, Motenko says.

Others have tried iPads. Restaurants by Delta Air Lines gates at New York’s John F. Kennedy and LaGuardia airport installed iPads at tables that let guests custom-order meals. Bone’s Restaurant in Atlanta uses iPads for its wine list. Co-owner Richard Lewis says wine sales jumped 20% since the iPads were added six months ago. Someday, they’ll be at all restaurants, Lewis says. “It’s the future”. Be the first to start an innovative restaurant here in the Philippines with an Ipad menu.

This is a great new fashion shirt for little boys. Dress-up clothes for small boys haven’t changed much over the years, leaving us today with essentially the same shirts and ties our grandfathers wore. Enter Fat Tie, a Los Angeles-based company that aims to give young boys a fresh alternative with a comfortable feel and a hip sense of style.

Available in both short- and long-sleeved versions, Fat Tie shirts are prewashed and preshrunk soft cotton t-shirts with a bold, tie-like applique sewn on the front. No more struggling to squeeze junior into a multipiece ensemble; instead, he can go from playground to dinner with maybe just a hand-washing in between. Sizes range from 12 months to 5T; pricing is USD 37.

Who would have thought there was still room for innovation in the world of children’s clothing? Then again, who wouldn’t have? When it comes to t-shirts, there’s no end to the possibilities. This is great for Philippine market.

A new toaster has emerged in the U.S. that makes it possible to burn Jesus image into a slice of toast every time you use it reports newsoxy.

The toaster went on sale early this month starting at $39.95. It takes your daily bread and burns the image of Christ on it. The inventor hopes to expand by introducing more religious icons.

The idea comes six years later after a Florida woman auctioned off a grilled cheese sandwich bearing the image of the Virgin Mary on ebay. The inventor is Galen Dively III, 45, of Walden, Vt., and he’s running an introductory offer of a dozen toasters for $300.

“We’re like the Henry Ford of Virgin Mary toast,” Dively said in a statement. “We’re bringing it to the masses.” In fact, he demonstrated the toaster for purchasing agents and won over numerous converts. So far, the only skeptic has been his wife. This toaster has a great potential market here in the Philippines because of its religious connection.

With the fashion trend right now of wearing great looking flip-flops a 16 year old lady named Lindsay Phillips in the U.S. came up with the idea for a flip-flop with interchangeable straps during art class. Today, her company — Lindsay Phillips — employs 35 full-time staffers and is projected to bring in $30 million in revenue this year, reports AOLSmallbusiness.

The idea is simple — SwitchFlops are sandals with interchangeable straps. So instead of buying several pairs of sandals, customers can instead own one sandal with multiple straps. In the wake of the Great Recession, a 3-in-1 shoe (or, heck, 50-in-1) is tailor-made for shoppers on a budget.

The basic sandal itself costs $35, and additional straps are $12. Officially launched in 2007, SwitchFlops are now sold in more than 4,000 stores around the world, and Phillips’ line has evolved into other footwear like ballet flats, wedges and espadrilles. The company also makes shopping bags, scarves and sandals for children. Lindsay Phillips, the company, is currently building an overseas office.

“I bought some fun buttons and tried to put them on some sandals, but they kept falling off when I’d go to the beach, so I used some Velcro, and started lining it to the shoes,” says Phillips, who gave out her prototype sandal straps to family members and friends.

It was just a hobby at first, until a relative said, “This is really an amazing idea. You need to patent this.”

“I’m 16,” Phillips replied. “I really don’t know what a patent is. Can you help me?”

She wound up going to a sympathetic but skeptical patent attorney, who told her to do some research and make sure there wasn’t anything similar already on the market. If she couldn’t find anything, he said he would work with her. She did her research, turned up nothing, and to the attorney’s astonishment, he couldn’t find anything either. They began the process of applying for a patent. It took four years.

Phillips recalls meeting one of her customers who had eight pairs of her shoes and 30 straps, and seeing women staring at her displays like kids in a candy store, as they selected straps and matched them up with shoes. “It’s amazing to be in the store and watch it happen because everyone picks out something different,” she says.

And being different, of course, is the whole idea.

Cloth diapers is back again. In the U.S. Rachel Hall and her husband estimate that they’ve saved over $1000 by using cloth diapers on their 16 month old daughter. This savings allowed Rachel to stay home with her daughter and pursue her writing career on a freelance schedule a report from The Charleston Gazette.

The environmentally friendly aspects of cloth diapers appeal to Hall, especially after she and Charlie lived briefly in Hawaii, where recycling and trash reduction are a necessary way of life. There isn’t much room for landfills on islands.

“We became more environmentally conscious while we lived there. We were surrounded by this amazing natural beauty that we didn’t want to impact in a negative way,” she said. “When we moved back here, I realized West Virginia has the same beauty, but I hadn’t noticed it before. I didn’t want to have a negative impact on it, either.”

In May, Hall launched a business, Diaper Parties by Rachel, in which she hopes to both educate parents about the advantages of cloth diapers and to sell diapers and related products.

Hall brings a kit containing a wide array of modern cloth diapers and associated products to groups of parents, or anyone interested in child care.

“They can touch and feel the diapers,” she said. “Even people who are pretty adamantly opposed to them, if they just hear about them, especially the financial considerations, they might be interested.”

An online handbook created for independent inventors and entrepreneurs to address questions concerning the protection of intellectual property, raising capital, applying for patents, and other steps to protect and commercialize ideas is available for free from MIT.

The handbook was created by the Lemelson-MIT Program to address the independent inventor’s and aspiring entrepreneur’s most frequently asked questions regarding United States patents. Though it is base in the U.S. you can find some nuggets of information from this book since our system here in the Philippines is patterned from the State.

A cute diaper idea in U.S. by Ada Vaughan created a booming diaper business. By combining her passions as a mom and her love of cloth diaper spark the idea.

It all began in 2008 sewing diapers in her basement. She tried different things such as illustrations and even made 40 different kinds of baby food. She really wanted to own her own business. She started working with a professional seamstress in 2009 and then went to China and looked at the factory where the diapers would be made.

CuteyBaby offer 8 different prints for the modern cloth diapers that customers can choose from. There is also the “Zip it, Baby!” dry bags where dirty diapers can be kept neatly until laundry time. There are two size options for the dry bags. There are also “Keep It Clean” biodegradable liner sheets.

Graduation time is here again. The month of march is full of graduation ceremony events. Could you make an entire business out of tassels? Tassel Depot has, a website that sells all kinds of tassels not just for graduations. They sell over $50,000 of tassels each month on their website! This is a great negosyo idea for Philippine market.

The company, run by Roger Leavy and his wife, April, specializes in making tassels of all sizes and colors and provides them primarily to manufacturers of other products.

Greeting card companies fold cards and invitations around thin delicate tassels. Wine gift bags feature a tassel-ended rope tie. Avid readers slip a bookmark with a dangling tassel into a bestseller or to tag a favorite recipe.

We have seen blue roses in flowershops and other single color roses but this one is in vibrant different colors. It’s called Rainbow roses, the brainchild of Dutch flower shop owner Peter Van de Werken, are colorful roses that are made by injecting die into the stem of the roses while they are still growing. This results in the color being drawn up and absorbed by the petals of the flower.

Are you a florist? Do you need a product to differentiate your shop from all of the other flower shops in the Philippines? well this might be your opportunity to be the first to offer it here in the Philippines.
