Nowadays ipods are almost everywhere from using it in jogging and going to the office. One drawback of using it in formal attire in  going to the office is the bulging of your pocket with your cellphone and ipod. Well here is a nice idea with report from theage.com.au: for bored commuters with already bulging pockets, a shirt design company has come up with the perfect solution to keep them entertained on the trip to work — a commuter tie with a hidden iPod storage pocket.

Thomas Pink, the British shirt brand, is introducing the Commuter Tie as part of its main line for the autumn and winter 2009/2010 with the silk tie featuring a small pocket on the reverse designed to hold an iPod nano or mp3 player.

“The music player is placed in the pocket to avoid having expensive devices on display or damaging the line of one’s suit,” the company said in a statement.

An extra fabric loop keeps wires, including headphone wires, out of sight and close to the body.

Thomas Pink, which has its flagship store on Jermyn Street, London, is owned by luxury goods group LVMH (LVMH.PA) and has more than 80 boutiques and concessions in Europe, the United States and Asia.

A local entrepreneur’s latest invention may sound like the latest must-have children’s toy this Christmas, but is making its mark on the gift wrapping industry.

Liz Mrofka, president of the Fab Fob Company, LLC, invented the Fobbie, which is a small decorative circle that can be affixed to packages.

In May, the Fobbie was made available in all Michaels craft stores in the United States and Canada and online for 99 cents apiece.

Mrofka, 49 of Drake, came up with the idea in 2005 while trying to figure out a way to attach decorative woodwork circles she constructed out of beetle kill trees to packages.

The idea hit her at 2 a.m. one morning when she came up with a parallel slot system allowing her to tie the object to a package.

“As I kid I grew up spending hours making bows,” said Mrofka who enjoys creative craft projects. “The beauty of this product is it can be tailored to any market. I would like to expand it into a pet line.”

She started working on prototypes and came up with the disc with eight slots that can be cinched down.
