Misamis Oriental or short for MisOr is a province located in Northern Mindanao. It is a bountiful place with a long coastline home to different kinds of beach resorts.
Its Capital is Cagayan de Oro which is the gateway of Mindanao. The Ford dealership is located in the Kauswagan Highway area where I got to test drive the all-new Ford Territory.
The Ford Territory is a sibling of the Ford Ecosport which I featured a while ago on this blog. It is a crossover that is wider and longer than the Ecosport.
To test drive the unit I went to so many places in Cagayan de Oro City and the whole province of Misamis Oriental. On the first day, we went to Pahiron Ridge or Camarahan Ridge which is a very popular attraction right now within the city ever since there is an access road that was built by the government recently.
I was impressed by the powerful engine of the Ford Territory when we go uphill on the steep road going to the main ridge it handles it so well without over-revving the engine even if we are fully loaded with 5 people on board. The scenic view when you are on the top of the ridge is quite tranquil especially when the sun is going down in the afternoon. We enjoyed the scenic view and the gentle breeze of the wind while sipping a piping hot sikwate (hot chocolate drink) and paired with a hot bibingka (rice cake) at Payag ni Elma, one of some snack shacks on top of the ridge.
On the second day, we went to Duka Bay in Medina, Misamis Oriental which is around 110 kilometers from Cagayan de Oro City. Duka Bay Resort is home to lots of diverse aquatic fish which is one of the best places to snorkel where you will enjoy so many beautiful and awesome fish including Nemo in Finding Nemo the movie 🙂
Along the way, we dropped by the Municipality of Jasaan to visit one of the oldest Catholic churches in Mindanao built in 1723 with a unique baroque design. The day we went there was December 8 which is also the feast of the Immaculate Conception which is the patron saint of the church. After Jasaan, we visited the miraculous Our Lady of Lourdes church located in Binuangan, Misamis Oriental then proceeded to Duka Bay Resort in Medina. The trip was around 110 kilometers and we enjoyed the riding comfort of the Ford Territory with its superb suspension and quick and powerful acceleration, making it so fun to drive on the highway.
