In this time of coronavirus pandemic, Nippon Paint and Corning Inc. have developed a special paint to help protect frontliners in hospitals.
A paint coating is specifically designed by Japan Nippon Paint and the U.S. based technology company, Corning Inc. who teamed up to develop the paint coating for hospitals and other critical facilities.
The coating is able to repel microbes as it incorporates Corning Guradiant Antimicrobial Particles, a nascent technology designed to safeguard against viruses from adhering to hospital surfaces. Furthermore, it can also kill harmful bacteria, which include Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Although developed for hospitals and healthcare environments, the paint could eventually be applied to public spaces like malls, ships, as well as homes.
